Hi Karen,

My son Campbell is playing on Walt’s U13 MBC team. Campbell has told me that this season has been his favorite of the six years he’s been playing the sport. Walt and Bish have been great role models and teachers.

This past Saturday I attended the Washington State High School 3A championship and sat with Walt as we watched O’Dea High School play Bainbridge Island High School for 3A honors (I live on Bainbridge). Throughout the game, Walt would mention that this or that player had played for MBC. I got a copy of the two rosters and asked him to mark which students had played there. Wow! The list is impressive. Fourteen players in the two dugouts had played in the program!!

I write to you so you are aware of the influence that the MBC baseball program has. I realize that the 14 mentioned are a small subset of the many kids you’ve reached but thought you’d like to know where many ended up – playing for a state championship at Safeco Field! How cool is that?

Thank you for your continued support to this wonderful program. My family has enjoyed being a part of the experience (we even reunited with an old friend whose son is on the team).
